I am submitting these forms to begin the process of having my basement legalized. I am missing the
plans for the basement before it was finished because these renovations were done by the previous
owner, and I have no record of what it looked like before I moved in. My husband was the one between
the tWo of us who dealt with all the details when we purchased our home in 2007. He passed away
suddenly last year (October 30). 1 was unaware that the basement was not legal, and only found out
from my realtor when I attempted to sell last year. I am now in the process of trying to make the house
saleable.

I have received and reviewed the revised plans for the proposed addition to the above - mentioned
residence. The proposal for the addition has been approved as per plans bearing the approval
stamp from this Department dated November 1, 2010. The addition is approved with the
following conditions:
1. The total number of bedrooms must remain at three without prior approval by this
Department.
2. The area of the existing sewage disposal system and its expansion area must be
maintained.
-3. All plumbing fixtures..must be updated with water savin g devices, i:e:; new low flush - -
toilets, restrictors for shower heads and faucets etc. v
4. The approval is for the proposed changes only. This approval does not validate any
construction shown as existing that has not obtained proper approvals
Any other permits or variances required are the responsibility of the applicant and the
jurisdiction of the Town of Putnam Valley.
