I have received and reviewed the plans for the proposed addition to the above - mentioned residence.
The proposal for the addition has been approved as per plans bearing the approval stamp from this
Department dated January 14, 2004.The addition is approved with the following conditions.
1. The total number of bedrooms must remain at four without prior approval by this
Department.
2. The area of the existing sewage disposal system, and its expansion area, must be
maintained.
3. Alf plumbing fixtures must be updated with water saving devices, i.e., new low flush
toilets, restrictors for shower heads and faucets, etc.
Any permits or variances required are the responsibility of the applicant and the jurisdiction
of the Town of Putnam Valley.

Dear Mr. Hedges,
In way of introducing ourselves, ACER LLC is a consulting engineering firm in Kensington, Connecticut.
We are assisting the new owners (closing in April) of the Indian Lake Friar's of the Atonement property,
Laura and Warren Schiele, (our daughter and son in law) in remodeling two of the existing structures. The
Architect for the remodeling is Warren's sister, Caroline Schiele (Studio Blue House New York New
York) Laura and Warren are preservationists, focused on utilizing two of the existing structures, and
restoring the grounds to maintain the natural environment of the lake area. They are also planning to utilize
as many local services as possible in the remodeling of the houses.
We have spoken on the phone a few times, and appreciate the guidance you have given us pertaining to
the property on Indian Lake,. and the information you will need to determine the approved size of the new
septic tank. (Please note enclosed sketches you requested to have an idea of how the property will be
utilized in the future) In addition, we will need to change the Certificate of Occupancy from a "Camp" to
"Residential ".

I know when we spoke you mentioned that some plans for reconstruction of this property in the past
involved parceling of lots. This is not the plan for the future of this property. In addition to the above
mentioned property, the Schiele's will simultaneously close on what I believe on the map is the "Fink"
property... a house on about 80 square feet close to the lake and currently sharing a driveway easement.
This will give them a total of about 31 acres.

Building A
two story structure that will be refurbished into a "Guest House" (note map enclosed... Originally
the structure had one bathroom and one shower).
First Floor: 1 Bedroom and 1 Bathroom
Second Floor: 1 Bedroom and 1 Bathroom
• The Dormitory Building that currently is located between the main building and the 2 story
building on the comer has 6 toilets and 6 showers, this building is scheduled to be demolished and
landscaped
• There is discussion of eventually demolishing the small-two story structure that is on what is
currently shown on the map as the "Fink" property, and that area being landscaped
