Leonard Kaplan; Sunset Hill Road; Town of Putnam Valley Dear Mr. Benson: Reference is made to your letter of September 20, 1973 concerning the above referenced project. I.have been in touch with the owner's representative to discuss your comments; and subsequently, the plan has been revised, and is submitted herewith, in triplicate, for your review. First of all, please be advised that it isnot the intent to cut any corners with. the design, although it might seem so from the layout proposed. Unfortunately, the builder is committed to the house location shown by virtue of a variance granted. It wouldnot be possible to locate the dwelliALg on any other part of the lot. Such bein.a the case it rather . narrowly defines the, limits. The town has, according to the owner's representative, permitted the driveway to utilize the paper street, and subsequently, more land has become available for the s.d.s. See the attached plan for the revised location of tank, fields, and expansion, etc. With respect to the numbered comments in your letter, the following answers are offered: (1) the approximate top of slope along Sunset Hill Road has been plotted by presentation of spot elevations. This slope was cut back by the town, and it is opined that the owner would have the right to restore it again to its former location (see note 4 also). J2) The present design provides for sufficient horizontal cover for all Ines to be installed now. In the event expansion were necessary, alter- ations to the slope could be accomplished by the addition of a blanket of clay.. (3) The new driveway location t;rillnot, by its grade (to be determined), effect the vicinity of the fields, and as such shouldnot be presently required. It is still to be determined, by:the builder, at what elevation he willget the bottom floor, and this will effect the driveway grade. (4) The owner, back in 1968, ordered and received a complete boundary survey, including staking of all corners, from J. Wilbur Irish.
