Depth to bedrock was encountered at 2 1/2 t feet in the two holes. Accordingly, the depth of fill specified in the approved permit is insufficient to assure seven feet of.soil over bedrock. Please be advised that the referenced permit expired November 29, 1985 and a renewal from this Department is required. The renewal must conform with the submission requirements dispatched to your office October 8, 1985 with the following additions: 1. Three feet of "select fill" shall be placed over the entire disposal area. This fill shall not be "run -of- bank ", but must be a soil with settled percolation rates that are as fast as the native soil. A minimum settlement period of six months is required, or compaction by approved means. A percolation test will be required in settled fill prior to approval of SDS construction permit. 2. Two feet of "run -of- bank" shall be placed over entire disposal area. 3. Proximity to State Designated wetlands OL -29 indicates a State Department of Environmental Conservation Wetland permit may be required for drilling proposed well. Such haybales are to be fully maintained until a suitable vegetative cover is established on the disturbed area. 19. All other necessary precautions shall be taken to prevent contamination of the wetland by silt, sediment,_fuels, solvents, lubricants, well drilling slurry, or any other pollutant. 20. The sanitary sewage disposal system shall be constructed in strict accordance with the requirements and final approval of the Putnam County Department of Health. 21. No other disturbance to the wetland is authorized except the - minimum required for construction of the well. 22. .All areas of soil disturbance resulting from this project shall be seeded with an appropriate perennial grass seed and mulched with hay or straw within one week of final grading. "Mulch shall be maintained until'a- suitable vegetative cover is established.
